Q ) We have two children elder 7 years and younger is 4 years. My elder one is most of the time moody and not showing interest in any activities. May i know is it the sign of depression.

A) Some of the signs for depression in children include:

  • Frequent sadness, tearfulness and crying
  • Decreased interest in activities
  • Increased irritability, anger or hostility
  • Frequent complaints of physical illnesses, such as headaches and stomach aches
  • Frequent absences from school or poor performance in school
  • A major change in eating and/or sleeping patterns
