Uses of this medication:

Furazoildone is used treat infections caused by some bacteria and protozoa.

Mainly it is used as anti diarrhoeal and in the treatment of Giardiasis, Cholera, other GI infections.

How to use this medication:

Furazolidone is taken with glass full of water after food to avoid stomach upset.

It is also available in liquid form, use measuring spoon to measure the medicine.

Always remember to inform your health expert if you are taking any prescription or OTC medication.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medical conditions, allergies.

If you are planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding pl. make sure you notify to your health expert.

Side effects and when to consult your health expert:

Hypo glycaemia and hypo tension.

Headache, Dizziness and Drowsiness.

Nausea and Vomiting.

Brown urine.

Dosage and Missed Dose:

Dosage:

100mg four times daily for 2 to 5 days.

Use as directed by your physician, your physician prescribes depending on the severity of disease.

Use the complete course of medication as prescribed by your physician even though you feel better after one or two days of usage of medication. 

Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at same time to cover up the missed dose

Storage:

This product should be stored at room temperature between (15-30 degrees C). Store it in a place where it won’t be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight never store in bathroom. Keep it out of reach of children. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.

General information:

Flurazolidone should not be given in children less then 1 year as this may lead to loss of blood.

Dosage of each individual will be different; do not change the dose unless your doctor tells you to change.
