Uses of this medication:

Piroxicam is a NSAID (Non steroidal anti inflammatory drug) used to treat pain or inflammation swelling, stiffness in rheumatoid arthritis or Osteoarthritis.

 

How to use this medication:

Take this medication with food or antacid and with full glass of water never take this on empty stomach to avoid gastro intestinal side effects.

Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take this medication longer than prescribed or in larger amount. It takes two weeks to have the result while using this medication.

Always remember to inform your health expert if you are taking any prescription or OTC medication.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to piroxicam or other NSAIDs.

Under pregnancy risk it it falls in category C. It can cause harm to unborn baby, using of this in last trimester can cause birth defects. It passes through breast milk and harms the baby. Make sure that you inform the doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or pregnant or breast feeding.

Tinnitus, Blurred vision

For rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis it is 20mg/daily or for gout it is 40mg / daily or

Use as directed by your physician, your physician prescribes depending on the severity of disease.

Use the complete course of medication as prescribed by your physician even though you feel better after one or two days of usage of medication.

 

Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at same time to cover up the missed dose

 

Storage

 

This product should be stored at room temperature between (15-30 degrees C). Store it in a place where it won’t be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight never store in bathroom. Keep it out of reach of children. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.

 

General information

 

Do not drink alcohol while taking piroxicam. Alcohol can increase the risk of stomach bleeding caused by piroxicam.

Do not use this medication just before or after heart bypass surgery.

On longer usage of this medication it increases the risk for heart attack.

It is imp to read manufacturing packaging instruction carefully if available and always do not hesitate to consult pharmacist or physician for any information.
